The newspaper is a reflection of our society - the good and the bad. Each day's newspaper includes accounts of peoples' actions and interactions. Some of those illustrate acts of kindness.
Students can brainstorm a list of search terms like "help," "assist," "kind," "nice," "goodwill," "charity," and others in order to find some stories in the newspaper that are about people helping other people.
- Once they locate a story, they should write a summary or rewrite the E-edition summary in their own words.
- As follow-up, they can write the helpful or kind person a letter of thanks.
